Franklin Adhesives & Polymers and Taylor Guitars Take Center Stage in FDM Magazine

Taylor Guitars and Franklin Adhesives & Polymers are making beautiful music together – and playing it for the readers of FDM magazine. FDM – now CabinetMaker+FDM – featured us in a recent article on the role adhesive plays at Taylor Guitars. The article, “Adhesives Play Key Role in Guitar Construction,” appeared in the August 2009 issue of FDM.

According to the article, 95 percent of all pieces in the 80,000 guitars and 15,000 guitar cases Taylor produces annually are painstakingly hand-glued after parts are cut. This includes the 175 pieces that comprise each six-string guitar and 150 making up each 12-string instrument. Among our PVA adhesives Taylor uses for various applications are Multibond 2015, Assembly High Tack, Titebond 50 and Titebond Melamine.

Taylor has been assembling its guitars using our products for more than 20 years. We take great pride in knowing that our adhesives play a role in the making of guitars played by the likes of Leo Kottke, Kenny Loggins and Neil Diamond.
