Adhesives for Wood Windows and Doors

Finding the answers to your questions about adhesives for your wood windows and doors just became as easy as opening a folder. Franklin Adhesives & Polymers has produced a free kit – a custom-designed pocket folder brimming with brochures, guidebooks and more – to “take the confusion out of adhesive selection” for wood windows and patio doors.The kit contains all the information you need to select the right adhesive for finger jointing or edge and face gluing and to understand and meet ASTM and Hallmark requirements.

Kit inserts include a brochure on our new Advantage Trio line of three high-performance adhesives for wood windows and patio doors:
Advantage 415 for finger jointing, edge gluing, hot press and radio frequency gluing applications that require high water resistance and longer open times;
Advantage 425, one of the highest performing finger joint products available as measured by ASTM and Hallmark standards;
Advantage EP-925, a two-component emulsion polymer isocyanate (EPI) adhesive that meets critical North American and global standards when blended with Hardener 200.

You can easily plug into more information on each of these products, too: Product data sheets are downloaded on a handy USB drive, included, free, with the kit.

Also inside the kit are gluing guides, offering troubleshooting tips on edge and edge gluing and finger joint gluing. Another set of inserts explains the rigorous testing methods for Hallmark and ASTM standards. Franklin Adhesives & Polymers and Taylor Guitars Take Center Stage in FDM Magazine

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers and Taylor Guitars Take Center Stage in FDM Magazine

Taylor Guitars and Franklin Adhesives & Polymers are making beautiful music together – and playing it for the readers of FDM magazine. FDM – now CabinetMaker+FDM – featured us in a recent article on the role adhesive plays at Taylor Guitars. The article, “Adhesives Play Key Role in Guitar Construction,” appeared in the August 2009 issue of FDM.

According to the article, 95 percent of all pieces in the 80,000 guitars and 15,000 guitar cases Taylor produces annually are painstakingly hand-glued after parts are cut. This includes the 175 pieces that comprise each six-string guitar and 150 making up each 12-string instrument. Among our PVA adhesives Taylor uses for various applications are Multibond 2015, Assembly High Tack, Titebond 50 and Titebond Melamine.

Taylor has been assembling its guitars using our products for more than 20 years. We take great pride in knowing that our adhesives play a role in the making of guitars played by the likes of Leo Kottke, Kenny Loggins and Neil Diamond.

And we are honored that our adhesives play a starring role at Taylor Guitars – as well as at various wood-products assembly plants through North America and the world.

Happy New Year from all of us at Franklin Adhesives & Polymers.
We look forward to helping you with your adhesives needs in the new year!
